Client: Henschke Wines
Project Type: Winery
Location: Keyneton, South Australia
Project Summary:
In close collaboration with Henschke Wines, BGI delivered the design of a purpose-built winery facility in South Australia, ensuring the outcome reflected the client’s vision and production objectives. The facility was designed to support efficient wine production, storage, and visitor engagement while reflecting the winery’s heritage and brand identity. Structural systems and building materials were carefully selected to deliver long-term durability, thermal performance, and operational reliability. The finished development balances functional industrial requirements with architectural quality suited to a premium wine producer.
Works included reinforced concrete footings and slabs, structural steel framing, and masonry blockwork to provide stability, fire resistance, acoustic separation, and large clear-span production areas. Insulated wall and roof systems were installed to maintain temperature control critical to wine production and storage. Polished concrete flooring, industrial-grade wall coatings, and integrated drainage systems were applied to support hygiene, wash-down, and high-traffic operational environments. High-performance glazing was incorporated to maximise natural light while managing energy efficiency. Timber features and custom joinery were delivered within tasting and visitor areas to reinforce craftsmanship and brand character.
